Does anyone know how to change their phone number in the app because every time I try to it keeps sending me back to where it wants to text you a code or call with a code

I’m was able to sign in with my email but to update my phone number, it won’t let me do it. Sends me to sign in with email and then I wind up right back to needing my phone number updated in order to move on?
