I have been pleading for help and no one seems to help. I have downloaded CSV files from sofi with my crypto buys and sales and I get error reports back, yet no description on what is missing or how to fix it. I have spent hours on the phone, posted to this community and no one has an answer or way to fix the problem. The software does not tell me what the problem is, if there is something missing, or how to fix it. This is crazy and costing me time and money I do not have to spend. Anyone have any clue as to why this is, what is missing, or how to fix this problem. I cannot be the only person using sofi and turbotax. There must be a solution or a way to get a refund so I can try a different company who may be willing to help solve this problem
I'm very sorry, I'm on the same boat trying to think of everything and anything to figure this out. I only have 3 transactions and yet this is taking hours with extremely limited information. Did you figure anything out?
If a CSV file is available, are you able generate a gain/loss report in IRS form 1099-B format? Are you able to convert the CSV file to PDF format? A PDF file may be uploaded into TurboTax Online and IRS form 1099-B income reported by Sales section total. As an alternative, the Sales section total may be reported and a printed version of IRS form 1099-B may be mailed to the IRS after electronic filing.
If your statement includes a summary of your transactions, grouped by sales category, for example, Box C short-term transactions not reported on Form 1099-B or Box F long-term transactions not reported on Form 1099-B, you will enter the summary info instead of each individual transaction. Follow these steps:
