I also received a letter (in the mail, not e-mail) like the following:
"Dear Valued Turbotax customer,
We recently sent you an email with the subject line "CRITICAL NOTICE: Regarding your 2020 TurboTax Return." To ensure that you received the communication, we are following up with the same message by mail.
Because of an error in a Turbo Tax calculation, you have overpaid the income tax on your 2020 Federal tax return.
..."
Is this e-mail legit? If not, how did the mailer know what software I used to file my tax? how did the mailer know which form did I file?
Can anyone please reply my question? I tried to look for an online chat support to verify this in real time. But couldn't find one. Thank you very much!
It's probably related to thsi one..
Solved: I received CRITICAL NOTICE: for Rental Properties ... (intuit.com)
UNFORTUNATELY..
The links in that discussion, that go to the procedures for the fix?...those links no longer exist.
BUT...maybe some of the discussions there will give you ideas on what to do when you amend your 2020 tax return...to correct whatever was wrong.
