Code F1099R-502-02 federal ID does not match. They are the correct numbers, why is this happening. Is the only way to correct this is to mail it

The IRS checks the first 4 letters of your last name, the SS# and your birth year with the SS records ... check to make sure all 3 are correct ... if they are you will need to mail in the return and get this corrected with the SS office before next tax season. 

E-file reject F1099R-502-02: The Payer Federal Id Number entered does not match what the IRS has in its records
