We cannot see your tax return or your information. It is not clear whether you are asking about getting the child tax credit on your 2020 tax return or if you are asking about getting the monthly advance payments that just began.
How old will your child be at the END of 2021?
Does your child have a Social Security number?
Did your child live with you for at least half the year?
If this is about the CTC on your tax return---did you have income earned from working in 2020?

@jess29salazar It is still not clear whether you are asking about getting the child tax credit on your tax return or if you are asking about the monthly child tax credit payments that just began in July 2021.
If you are asking about getting the child tax credit on your tax return---look at your Form 1040. Is the box checked for Child Tax Credit for your child or is the box for Credit for Other Dependent checked? If the box for child tax credit is not checked then you may have answered a question incorrectly when you filed your tax return and will need to amend to get the child tax credit.
If that box is checked then look at your Form 1040 to see the amount of child tax credit you got:

If you are asking about the monthly payments, this is a brand new system thrown together by the IRS after Congress changed tax laws in the middle of the tax season. There are going to be bugs, glitches and mistakes made and folks will unfortunately have to be patient until they sort it out.
If you do not receive the monthly payments you will be able to get the CTC on your 2021 tax return.
