If you are unable to import, you can always enter your 1099-B information manually. Here's how:

Here's where you enter your 1099-B in TurboTax:

  1. Open (continue) your return if it isn't already open.
  2. In TurboTax, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2019? If you see Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select Add More Sales.
  4. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
  5. At Let's get your tax info, choose type it in yourself.
  6. Follow the instructions.

I stumbled upon this thread while trying to fix this too.  I just got Ameriprise accounts a month ago and Mint has NEVER been able to connect to them.  It keeps saying to try again later.  It's been a month.  It is annoying.

If import does not go smooth, I will suggest to manually enter info.  For import, there is a limit on how many transactions TurboTax can handle.  See blue links below.  It could be due to large amount of transactions and caused issues.  Here are the steps:

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • At the right upper corner, in the search box, type in 1099b and Enter
  • Select Jump to 1099b
  • Follow prompts
  • On-screen, "Let's import your tax info, select I'll type it myself
  • Follow prompts to continue

The transactions will generate either a long term or short term capital gain or loss depends on how long the stocks are being held.  The amount will be reported on line 7 of your Form 1040 along with a Schedule D and Form 8949.
