Form 8839, Qualified Adoption Expenses, now has an availability date of 03/03/2022.

I am expected a rather substantial refund and it is because you can't get it together and get Form 8839 updated, I can't file my taxes.  Other tax preparation software has released this form.  I will wait until 2/17 and if the form is not ready by then I will go to TaxAct.  I have been a long time customer, but no more if you can't get your act together.

@melron963

In this public forum, we are provided with form availability information, but not an explanation as to why the form is not available until that date.  For additional information, it would be necessary to contact customer support.  To do this, please see this Help Article to get in touch with us.

@melron963  I had this same issue. Turbo tax told me now it’ll be 03/03/2022 for this update. I ended up using TaxAct. The form is ready there and my return was accepted. I purchased turbo tax and have been using them for several years. Not sure what happened with them this year but I want a refund and will not be using them again. Time for a change

Please understand that TT cannot release the form until the IRS approves TT's version (programming) of it.

@SweetieJean

This form has been approved by the IRS.  TaxAct has it ready.

Right, but the IRS must still approve Turbotax's programming of it.

@SweetieJean

Well not sure what TT issue is this year with them being a well established company. They lost me this year.  Had I known this I wouldn’t have purchased TT deluxe. I will not next year.  Ima TaxAct customer now
