Can you explain? I've been using turbotax for years with a household employee - now its telling me "it turns out some areas aren't yet ready" and I have to wait to file?

This is the message I got when I clicked to do my federal review:

I have all of my information entered, I'm not waiting on any more tax documents. I've submitted my tax return with the same household employee for years and always file at the end of January (this is actually the latest year I've ever filed). Is this an issue on the turbotax side?

"It looks like some of your tax forms aren't ready
You've done a great job starting your taxes early, but it turns out some areas aren't yet ready for your specific tax situation.

It just means some of your forms have not yet been finalized yet so you will not be able to complete your e-file until they are ready. For your reference, You may review the IRS forms availability as well as state form availability.

I am in the same boat. I have used TurboTax for filing including the Schedule H for 4 years. I always try to run my taxes in the first couple weeks on Feb. I do not recall ever being forced to wait until March to complete them. This is very disappointing.

It has nothing to do with TurboTax itself. The Schedule H form won't be released from the IRS until March 17th. You won't be able to file your tax return with this Schedule until the IRS has released it. You can check the IRS forms availability here.

"The Schedule H form won't be released from the IRS until March 17th."

I don't  think that is  accurate, because I can download the 2021 Schedule H right now from the IRS website:

https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-schedule-h-form-1040

This is TurboTax dragging their feet  or making  a mistake.

In this public forum, we are provided with form availability information but not an explanation as to why the form is not available or why the date may have changed. For more specific information about the form's status, it would be necessary to contact Customer Support.

What is the TurboTax phone number?

I'm done trying with TurboTax because of this. It's something every year

Some forms may not be available which can cause this message.  Please see the Help Article here for State Form Availability and IRS Form Availability.

The more you guys auto-respond the less likely anyone else is to use your service, so please keep going. Great to feel like another number.
