Can't enter bank login info to import because my password is too long. For example for Fidelity Investments my password is 26 characters which TurboTax won't allow. Help?

Once I type more than 20 characters or so Turbotax shows a 'This field is required' red error and the "Get my form" button becomes disabled.

Hi, thanks for your help. I have many accounts and my password manager has a password strength policy so it will be time consuming and difficult to change for each account. Tbh, I wouldn't sacrifice all my security just to use TurboTax. Would it be possible for TurboTax to simply update the password fields to accommodate up to 30 characters? TurboTax's own login allows passwords as long as that so it doesn't make sense that TurboTax enforces an arbitrary limit when entering passwords within the tax software. Thanks again.

Skip the import and enter the form manually.

This is just lazy programming. The same lazy programming that gave us the Y2K issue decades ago and yet this simple problem is still with us. There is no excuse not to support long passwords. Why pay for software that supports importing complex documents, then be told that you must enter the information manually (and be subject to human typo errors.)

In the interim, if you have a longer password with Fidelity you may want to consider changing it temporarily to a shorter password then try to import again. After your import is successful you can modify it back to the longer password.

Wow I cannot believe you are telling users to change their passwords in order to use Turbotax. That is just so unacceptable. We pay to use Turbotax.

It is entirely unacceptable that TurboTax performs validation on passwords for OTHER SERVICES.

TurboTax should send my password on to the service I am trying to log into without performing arbitrary validations that make it impossible to log in with valid passwords. I will not be changing my password for other services to make them less secure due to TurboTaxes inane rules, and I will not be paying for this service if it cannot do the one thing I want it to do: import data from other services intelligently.
