Can I read a 1996 turbotax .tax file?

I want to get my 1996 AGI from the .tax file.

See the answer in the link below, about a 3rd party printer service  (you won't be able to get a transcript from the IRS for something that old):

And if you do get the versions older than 2014 installed... (intuit.com)

Of course, the thing you didn't mention is why you would need that.

I can't think of any reason a 1996 AGI would be needed for anything at this late date....but we can't know all situations.

Why on Earth do you need an AGI from 26 years ago?  If, for example, you are trying to verify your earnings record for Social Security credits, the AGI is not the right figure for that.
