Can I get help from TT with the IRS since TT did not properly document my election of >60% of AGI charitable contributions at the time I filed my taxes (late February)?

I used TT Premier for Mac 2020.  In late February (when I filed), TT did not include the proper declaration of my election of qualified contributions on Line 11 of Schedule A.  So, the IRS has "corrected" my refund amount.  TT resolved the issue after I filed my taxes.  Can I get assistance with the IRS from TT, given the problem was with TT?

What type of help would you be asking about?  The IRS has corrected the error on your tax return, so the issue has been resolved by the adjustment to your refund, correct?

AUDIT SUPPORT

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support.   At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support".  Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter.  Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.

Hi Kat.  Thanks for answering.  I'm sorry, but I am new to this, and I wasn't clear.  Please let me try again.
When I said the IRS "corrected" my return, I mean that they sent me a notice indicating that they have reduced my charitable deductions because it was figured incorrectly or the amount was not limited by my AGI.  The notice says I owe a substantial (for me) sum instead of getting a refund, and the sum is due soon.  The problem was rooted in the fact that TT did not properly indicate my qualified contribution election (to permit >60% of AGI contributions to be deductible).  As I mentioned, the TT software defect has since been corrected, and now if I re-open TT, my election is noted on Schedule A line 11 per IRS rules.  That is with no change having been made to my tax data - just updates to the TT software.  So, I thought an acknowledgement by Intuit that the root of the problem was their software issue might be helpful as I try to avoid paying the additional taxes and interest (and penalties?) and then having to try to recover them later.

Not sure how you could have filed when the program was not fully operational  and if you did TT should have sent you an email alert to amend the return for the change  but you can put in an accuracy claim ...

TurboTax guarantees the accuracy of the calculations on the tax return.  It cannot and does not guarantee that the tax data entered by the user OR imported to the software is accurate.

You always owe your correct income tax.  At most, the accuracy guarantee would cover any penalties and interest due to a program mistake.  You must file your claim within 30 days of receiving the IRS notice.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for the Accuracy Guarantee - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/what-is-the-turbotax-100-accurate-calculatio...

@rmparkiii First, let me say that it's not so unusual for a TurboTax update to change an already-filed return.  I've seen it myself many times.  This is one reason that I wait until near the filing deadline before filing.  In defense of TurboTax, however, there are often changes made by the government DURING filing season (crazy, right?) that the software engineers then must implement.

That said, @Critter-3 is correct in that you do owe any taxes that are legitimately yours to pay.  The penalties and interest, however, if due to an error in the TurboTax software, are not your responsibility.  See the info shared by @Critter-3 for filing an accuracy claim.
