Can I export the tax info from my 2023 return (that was never filed). I finished all the info in turbotax, but never filed. How can I extract it and file manually? How?

I had everything in, but was waiting on a final detail and never submitted... I need to get that info out and file before adding my 2024 info to the website.

there is no way to export the file and have a return which you can file. if there are any fees, they must be paid first. then you would need to print out the return and follow the filing instructions. Unclear if you transfer the data from 2023 to the 2024 return without paying any fees that might be owed.

Thanks Mike, No, I don't expect a full file that I can just file, but I read that I should be able to export the content and all my details/income/deductions etc. so that I can import them into the desktop version. However I cannot find the 2023 information anywhere. No pdf or .tax file. Like NOTHING is there as if I never even started. So can I somehow pay the fees that you are referring to and recover the 2023 information?

You will be able to access the 2023 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.

Start a 2024  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2023 returns is now permanently closed.

Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2023 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.

If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

They are available from 5 a.m. to 9p.m. Pacific time daily

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Yes, I've already downloaded the desktop software. I've logged in to the online using my proper ID.
I clicked continue, when on 'Tax Home' if I go to the bottom and click 'your tax returns & documents' ..I can see 2022 and all other past years, but nothing shows up for 2023. I understand I cannot file or use the online version to edit. I'm trying to extract the .tax file of what I started which had all my info and want to bring my info into desktop to finish and print. However when I go taxes and documents, 2023 has no file at all.

OR If I go on the left menu that says 'Documents' there is nothing under any year at all as if I never used this before. I am in my proper login ID so I don't understand what is happening or why I can't see the 2023 info at all. I've included some pictures that may help show what I mean.

Have you tried using the recovery tool to look for a different account?   Many users have multiple online accounts and the accounts are not linked to each other.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

True, however, considering every year of taxes I've filed in the taxes and documents for the last 10 years is there. I don't believe it to be the wrong account.  I did try to log out and try options and the only other account said 'you've never filed taxes' and there was no 2023 info either. That is why I'm so confused.
