Yes, if your return was rejected then you can make changes to your return. Please follow these steps:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click on "Search" on the top and type “EIC”
  3. Click on “Jump to EIC”
  4. Review your entries

If you qualify for the EIC but was disallowed by the IRS then select "We got an IRS notice saying that we can’t claim the Earned Income Credit in 2021." on the "Let's check for uncommon situations" screen.

If your return has been accepted by the IRS, then you have to file an amended return (1040X) to make changes. But please wait until your refund or payment is processed. Please be aware that you can e-file your 2021 amended federal tax return, but most states require amendments to be printed and filed by mail. Please see How to amend a tax return for instructions (this will be updated once the 2021 Form 1040-X is ready).
