Using the online editions, click on the State Taxes tab. Click on Your State Returns. Click on the Add Another State button.
I need to add a California state return to my 2018 income taxes. I went to add a return but when I get there there is no option to add it. What am I missing?

The TurboTax online editions are Only for tax year 2019. You have to complete the 2018 state tax return using the TurboTax desktop editions for 2018.

I have two different states that I need to complete, New York and Colorado. I finished the New York return, but when I tried to click on the Colorado return, it takes me to another window. The window says that I need to call a representative to get the Colorado confirmation number, and I also have to pay $40.00. I have turbotax Deluxe. How come I have to pay for another state tax return? Also, when I called the provided number, I only got an automated response, which didn't help at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Unfortunately, there is a charge for filing an additional state return. Click this link for info on filing Multiple State Returns.
To see what the cost will be for a second state, in TurboTax Online, click this link and click State additional under the product you are using and a pop-up will appear with state cost.
