Can anyone help me find the take me to my return button to get to the federal taxes and income and wages tab to get to edit/add in order to delete a duplicate W-2?

If you use TurboTax Online the "take me to my return" button appears right after you log in (see picture).

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click "Take Me To My Return"
  3. Click "Federal" from the left side of your screen
  4. Scroll down and click "Start or Edit/Add" next to “Job (W2)”
  5. On the "Here's your W-2 info" screen click "edit" to edit the W2 or click on the "Trash Icon" to delete the W2

If you are using TurboTax Download/CD then there won't be a "take me to my return" button please follow these steps:

  1. Open your return
  2. Click the "Federal Taxes" tab on the top
  3. Click "Wages & Income" on the top
  4. Click "I'll choose what to work on"
  5. Scroll down click "Update" next to “Wages and Salaries
  6. On the "Here's your W-2 info" screen click "edit" to edit the W2 or click on "delete" to delete the W2

If you have already filed, you have to amend your return in order to change it.

Wait until you’ve either received your refund or the IRS has taken payment out of your account. (The IRS will only accept a 1040X, or amended return if your original 1040 was accepted.)

To look at a return you have already filed:

  1. In TurboTax, scroll down to Your tax returns & documents. Select Show and then select Amend (change) return, and then Amend using TurboTax Online. (If you don't see Your tax returns & documents, select Tax Home on the left.)
  2. Select the reason you’re amending and follow the instructions.
  3. You don't have to amend the return, but this will allow you to look at what you have entered.

For further information please see the TurboTax website: How do I amend my 2019 return?
