Betterment import is not successful. I have added an "App password" in Betterment Security settings.
The error:
"This import was unsuccessful. There isn't any tax-related info to import right now."
There most certainly is tax-related info; and there is way too much of it to manually enter.

Talked to "So Called" TurboTax Specialist and they cannot help with this problem. They say it is Betterment's problem and Betterment says it is TurboTax's problem.
At this point, I recommend closing your browsers, opening in Chrome, and verifying your password is updated at Betterment.
Second, I would verify in forms mode that nothing is in your program regarding Betterment. If there is anything, delete it. Close the program.
Third, open the program and from the main menu, select Online, and then Check for Updates to force a manual update.
Since you are getting unexpected results, it is also worth verifying that your device meets system requirements. If it does not, download your program on a different device to try the upload from a "clean slate."
I performed all of these recommended steps, including a clean install on another computer, and I still get the same "This import was unsuccessful. There isn't any tax-related info to import..." message. I have verified that all of my tax forms are downloadable from Betterment in .pdf form. Betterment support tells me that my forms are available for Turbotax to import and that the problem is on Turbotax's side.
I would like a confirmation from Turbotax acknowledging the problem and taking ownership for a timely resolution. I have used Turbotax with Betterment for the past four years and had no problem with the electronic transfer of my tax info.
I had the exact same experience and tried everything. This has gone for over a month and I'm pretty fed up with TurboTax.
I have exact same error message by trying import from Charles Schwab. I called Charles Schwab. They said that they have tax form ready and my setting to download from third-party is enabled. There is nothing that they can do from their side. It is TurboTax issue. It seems that this is a bug which Turbotax may not find the solution yet.
I'm having the same problem across all of my Betterment accounts...
Sometimes, for whatever reason, an import just won't work for an individual. In these cases you have to manually enter the information from your financial institution.
Yeah, but it's not working for my account or my wife's. This process worked fine last year.
I am experiencing the same problem, none of the proposed fixes worked for me and my machine meets the minimum requirements
Yes, I continue to be unable to import my tax info from Betterment into TurboTax desktop. Betterment support says that it is a known TurboTax problem and sends me to TurboTax support. I have twice called TurboTax support (including yesterday) with no successful resolution. The follow-up email response from TurboTax support is lame - check my firewall, disable anti-virus software. Clearly not the problem as I have imported data from other institutions and the connection to Betterment works - just no data is imported. I've even tried a clean install on another Windows PC and had the same problem.
I also can import from another broker. So it should not be computer setting issue. And it seems that Turbotax can access the broker website except it can't find the tax-related information. Turbotax should find the bug and fix.
I had the same issue, but I determined that I was using an incorrect "financial institution number". Once I used the correct number, it worked fine!
I get this same exact error when importing from Charles Schwab (after enabling third party access) using TurboTax Deluxe 2019 (bought the CD version but downloaded and updated the latest software from Intuit). Charles Schwab has not been able to find the issue yet. I am able to import from other financial institutions.
Anyone has any idea? Thanks.
I cant import Betterment or Wealthfront into Turbotax 2020 Premium. I get the same error "This import was unsuccessful. Internal Server Error". Been this way since 1/1/2021 despite sevral updates.
What DID work is to use the ONLINE version of Turbotax - turbotaxonline.intuit.com, and the imports work fine. CLEARLY the offline software product has a defect. Not happy with TTax. Will be swicthing to a competing product next year after using Ttax for 20+ years.
Obviously the problem is limited to the CD version of Turbo Tax. For many of us we cannot use the Online Version because it doesnt have the proper forms for the types of transactions.
I had that exact same error message trying to import a simple 1 page 100-INT from Chase Bank. Seems that they have a particularly tricky 3 factor authentication methods.
HOWEVER, it may be that indeed there IS NOTHING AVAILABLE to import!
Logging into my CHASE Account revealed TAX DOCOUMENTS FOR YOU ARE ACCOUNT ARE UNAVAILABLE ...
So the problem could potentially be with the Bank or Brokerage as well.
Leave no stone unturned.
Please contact TurboTax support for assistance.
Update: Just verified that todays update to the CD version fixed the issue i was having with both Betterment and Wealthfront.
