Availability of Forms 6251 and 8911

When will these two forms be available.  Originally Turbo Tax was saying 10 and 17 Feb 2021, now the dates are 24 Feb and 17 Mar.  This seems to be excessive based upon the IRS web site indicating that both forms will be available on 17 Feb.  I am wondering why the delay and what can be done to get these forms in final form sooner.

That is a pretty WEAK answer.  You are blaming on the IRS, but the IRS has the form ready.

 

I am a long time Turbo Tax customer, but this one annoys me.  I am trying to get my taxes done before leaving the country and YOUR delay will prevent me from doing so.

The IRS already has 2021 Forms available for these, turbotax is dropping the ball and causing me to hold out on receiving my thousands of dollars in tax refund.

In this public forum, we are provided with form availability information but not an explanation as to why the form is not available or why the date has changed. For more specific information about the form's status, it would be necessary to contact Customer Support.

What is the TurboTax phone number?

Oh well. I just redid my taxes with the H&R Block software, WHERE I COULD FINISH AND FILE.  I guess I have now switched over.  My 15+ year run with the Turbo Tax is over.  Good bye.

I did what you said.  I called the contact us number.  Unfortunately even though the IRS has finalized both forms in January, and after the person escalated the request, I get the dates posted by turbo tax are the dates.  I can't believe the response and am now going to look at a different software company that can actually help me file my taxes.  I have been with turbo tax for a long time, but now will look elsewhere to file.  I feel very disappointed and respond with my feet by leaving.  This is not how you keep customers.

It means you have to re-input this years info, but HR Block was ready and I could complete my taxes and file.

 

I, too, have been a Turbo Tax customer for a long time (15+ years, I think).  But they just lost me.

 

Attn: Tax software providers,

You should allow someone to import THIS YEAR'S tax file to take advantage of situations like this.

I too am a long term user of TurboTax who will be switching after this same problem.  The 2021 Tax year program has several "glitches" this year and this inability to have forms ready in a timely manner has pushed me over the edge.  Sorry I wasted the cost of the program but it is worth getting my taxes filed in a timely manner.

This is incredible. TurboTax is the only ones who do not have these forms ready.
