2023 Turbotax Premier will not save Schedule A after I open the form

Although I'm using the Standard Deduction, I opened the Schedule A form, but Turbotax will not let me save it/add it to the forms for my 1040 Tax Return.

I've been using Turbotax since 1993 and Turbotax used to let me add the Schedule A to the package to be submitted to the IRS, even if I was taking the Standard deduction.

Unable to "persuade" 2023 Turbotax Premier to do that 🙂

help, please 😉

Don't think you could ever add schedule A and take the Standard Deduction.  Check your returns.  Did it switch you to itemized deductions?  I think you would have to print out schedule A and mail your return to include it.   Why do you need to give the IRS schedule A?

Thank you for your response/comments  @VolvoGirl.

I'm actually looking at my 2022 Return, Standard Deduction and you're correct.  Turbotax DID NOT include the Schedule A, when I e-filed my 1040 form for 2022.

However, 2022 Turbotax Premier (Desktop edition) shows the Schedule A when I check all the " forms in My Return." In fact, it shows "Medical Wks", and "Tax & Int Wks" (supporting Wks for Schedule A.)

2023 Turbotax Premier (Desktop Edition) shows the above-referenced supporting worksheets, it allows me to open Schedule A, but it does not save it under "Forms in My Return."

Just an annoying little glitch.

But you're right, I don't need to include the Schedule A in the batch of forms/docs supporting my 1040 Return to be submitted to the IRS since I'm using the Standard Deduction for my 2023 Form as well.

It's a bit frustrating, since Turbotax has allowed me to add it to "Forms in My Return" and it is rather convenient to see that my "itemized deductions" shown on Schedule A were lower than the Standard Deduction, just for my records.
