As a recipient, your son's social security number would be x'd out except for 4 four numbers. 2392 are not his last 4 numbers? The payer's EIN never has x'd out numbers, they all show as a 2 digit - 7 digit number. (example: 12-3456789)

No, the last 4 of his SS# are NOT 2392, but, coincidentally, the last 4 of Door Dash's EIN are 2392.
It' jus frustrating because he can't get anywhere with DoorDash support to get any answers and I certainly don't wany his first tax filing as "single" (non-dependent) to get flagged for an audit. 😉
