1099-MISC

So I am currently 16 but in 2017 I had a job babysitting at my church from when I was 15 into when I was 16. I was mailed a 1099 Misc with $562.50 of nonemployee comp. for when I was 15 and a W-2 with $482.50 for when the work after I turned 16. I can easily file for the W-2 on TurboTax, but what I’m unsure of is do I have to pay self-employment tax and fill out a 1040 for my 1099?

Yes, you're required to file a tax return when you have net self-employment income of $400 or more. As you guessed, this is because you need to pay self-employment tax.

If you're filing with TurboTax Online you'll have to use Deluxe to report your self-employment income, but you don't have to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed if you don't have any expenses for your babysitting income.
