You can just type in bank name and enter the amount in box 1 and you are done.

Go to Personal Tab (not Personal Information)

Personal Income

I'll chose what I work on

scroll down to Interest and Dividends

go to Interest and make the entry.

This is so cryptic. You can't just type in the name of the bank.

So frustrated!

That answer doesn't work. I hate when they ask for specific things on a form that are not listed on the document that they are supposed to be on!

Do you not have the name and number of the payer of interest income?

If you are entering interest income in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:

  • Click on Federal.
  • Click on Wages & Income.
  • Under Your Income, choose Interest and Dividends.
  • Choose Interest on 1099-INT.

You don't need the Tracking ID to enter your 1099-INT manually.

Click this link for instructions on How to Enter 1099-INT

This is total bull**bleep**. Don't know what to enter in the tracking ID section. I tried different things from 1099-INT. It doesn't work. Importing 1099-INT also failed. I have the correct pdf copy from my bank account.

Turbotax charges so much and it's completely useless

I literally just had this probelm myself and had to figure out how to work through it. When you get to the choosing your bank screen, scroll to the bottom and select the box that says something like "choose a different way". It is where the continue button would be. When you click on this, it will ask you to select one of two boxes. Both of these options suck. Scroll to the bottom again and select the box that says something like "Do it myself". This is also where the continue button would be. From there all you do is type the name of the bank and box 1 and 3 totals. Super easy. Hope I could help someone!

To answer the original question- the reason you can't find the 24 character Tracking ID is most likely because you have a  Sandy Spring Bank statement.  The import you selected is for Sandy Spring Trust, a different company with a common owner. Sandy Spring Trust deals with investments and supports document import; Sandy Spring Bank does not support document import, you have to enter your information manually.
