1095A Error

Here are the facts of my case:

1. I was covered by ACA in 2024,

2. My parents paid for the whole thing because I am unemployed.

3. My parents reported me as an dependent and entered the 1095A in their form.

4. I am trying to file my tax return and if I don't enter an 1095A my return is rejected because I indicated before that I could not be claimed as an dependent.

5. I changed it so that I indicated I could be claimed dependent but I can no longer enter an 1095A. It does not matter whether I fill in 1095A or delete it - I keep receiving this notification.

"Recipient's SSN You have indicated you can be claimed as an dependent. Please delete this copy of Form 1095A and have the 1095A reported on that person's tax return"

It then asks me to fill in my SSN.

Since your parent's claimed you on their return and entered the 1095-A, you should not have to enter if since you indicated that they are claiming you.  Try making the adjustment below:

  1. Go to the Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan? screen.
  2. You'll be asked if you received a 1095-A. Select No. By selecting this certification, you will be able to e-file your return and meet the requirements under rejected code F8962-070.
  3. Select File from the left menu and continue through the process to resubmit your return.

Refer to the TurboTax help article How do I fix e-file reject F8962-070? for more information.

I navigated to the section asking me to report an 1095As and clicked no. The problem is I keep getting the same notification that I mentioned above when I go to review my federal & state tax returns.
