Where do I enter information about my new furnace in the home energy credits section? It has boxes for my new a/c and water heater, but not the furnace.

The help section says to follow the instructions in that section until the furnace box appears, but I've back and forth through the section and it's never an option.

Yes.  New furnaces are on the list as a "qualified" Residential Energy Property.  Use the "Water boilers" item.  If you click the "Learn more" on that item you will see the furnace listed.  Below is the IRS reference extracted as well.

"Residential energy property that meets the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) highest efficiency tier, not including any advanced tier, in effect at the beginning of the year when the property is installed qualifies for a credit up to $600 per item. Costs may include labor for installation.

Qualified property includes new:

  • Central air conditioners
  • Natural gas, propane, or oil water heaters
  • Natural gas, propane, or oil furnaces and hot water boilers"

@DMarkM1

All these updates and they still haven't fixed the text showing for people to properly choose the right line?

(and yes I updated this morning 29 Feb to get the latest desktop updates before I checked AGAIN)

Come-on now !....time to POUND on those software folks to implement such a simple text change so that taxpayers/customers are not continually confused/mislead.
