I maxed out the allowed MFJ amounts for Arizona QCO, QFCO, and public school tax credits, but I’m receiving a message saying the amount is too large when the info is being reviewed. The amount I’m claiming is $2,511 and our state tax liability is a little under $6000, and we took the standard deduction on our federal return. In previous years I’ve claimed larger amounts when donating to a STO and have never run into this problem. I don’t know what I can do to remedy this.
Because of this problem I can’t e-file, so I thought I’d just mail in the state return. When I opt for e-filing federal and mailing in state, I get an error message stating one of the formsets can’t be sent (uh, yeah, because I chose to mail it), and neither of them get sent.
Are there any errors on your federal return at all? Does the state switch back to e-file at some point prior to getting to that point? This will happen if you go back into the return and then try again to file. It reverts back to e-file.
There were no federal errors. This was the only error that came up. The option to e-file does come up, but when I go to do that, it won’t go through because of the error. I just kept going in circles with it. I ended up using another provider and it went through with no problem. How do I go about getting refunded the fee I paid to Turbo Tax?
