How do I include the additional standard deduction because I'm over 65. It is only giving me $14250 instead of $15950.

Please clarify your filing status. To receive a standard deduction of $15,950, you would need to be filing Single, over 65, and blind.

Based upon the info you provided, I believe that $14250 is the correct.

The standard deduction for Single or Married filing separately is $12,550.

The addition for over age 65 is $1,350

Add these 2 together and you get $14,250.

Refer to https://www.irs.gov/publications/p554    This publication includes a standard deduction worksheet with you can locate by using "Find"  "Worksheet 4-1. 2021 Standard Deduction Worksheet"  or by using Find "$1,350".

Thus, unless you are blind, or have other unusual circumstances, the $14,250 is correct.

If you need to, check to ensure your birth date is correct.  This date is located under the "Personal Data" tab, located at the top left of your screen, under the TurboTax logo.

@bosso3  Good post but you are a little off.   The over 65 amount for Single is 1,700 which adds up to the 14,250.

12,550+1,350 is only 13,900.  1350 is for MFS.
