My Ex filed my son the last year even though he was in my household the entire time. She got the child tax credit through her name since she filed but I am filing him this year. She split the child tax credit with me but i'm not sure how to claim it on my taxes since it was under her name? I also do not have the form needed with the correct amount paid and I also cannot make an IRS portal account because its under her name. HELP PLEASE!
You ddi not receive the CTC under your own SSN so you do not say that you received the advance payments. If you say that you did receive them, it will cause confusion and delay your refund. Your "deal" with the other parent was your own arrangement. The IRS is not going to deal with stuff people did with that money on their own.
If you are claiming the children for 2021 you get the full amount of CTC on your own return. it will show up on line 28 of your Form 1040.

However-----we do not know if you and the ex are following the IRS rules.
Are you the custodial parent? Do you have an agreement with the other parent to allow the other parent to claim them--due to divorce or that you live apart and share custody? Did one of you sign a Form 8332?
If there is a signed 8332 then the custodial parent retains the right to file as Head of Household, get earned income credit and the childcare credit. The non-custodial parent gets the child tax credit for children under the age of 18.
As far as the IRS is concerned, the custodial parent is the one with whom the child spent the most nights during the tax year--at least 183 nights.
