Hello. In 2021, we installed a new, energy efficient central air conditioner in our home. Can I apply this tax credit to our taxes this year?

I was not aware of the tax credit for that tax year so I am wondering if we can apply the credit now.

No.  You would have to amend your 2021 return and claim it then, if you were eligible.

No, not on a 2023 tax return.  There was a $300 credit for the A/C unit in tax year 2021 so if you want this credit you will have to amend the 2021 tax return since that is when the unit was purchased and installed.
