Do medical expenses paid with HSA accounts count as "medical expenses" in regards to the itemized deductions?

No. If you used tax-free HSA distributions to pay for medical expenses, you cannot also deduct them as itemized deductions.

The medical deduction starts with every dollar of medical expenses (excluding HSA) over 10% of your income if under 65. You can't include pretax insurance either, so its a hard deduction to get anyway.

Don't forget that the program will expect you to include HSA paid medical expenses in your itemized entries. It will automatically subtract the 1099-SA distribution from the total.
