Can I get a deduction for my tithes and offerings from church?

Yes, but only if you itemize deductions instead of taking the standard deduction.  Offerings and tithes are considered donations and are an itemized deduction.  To enter these in TurboTax, go to:  

  • Federal - left menu
  • Deductions and Credits - top menu
  • Charitable Donations - 
  • Donations to Charity in 2018

You can also type ''donations'' in the search bar and click the Jump To donations links.
