Got part of the way through my NYS taxes and got a message saying " TurboTax does not support the following forms" Of course the NYS IT-237 (Claim for Historic Homeownership Rehabilitation Credit) was listed. So now what? If I can't enter the information, how will TurboTax accurately compute my refund? As it stands now I owe the state $250. But after the IT-237 I should get BACK about $3,000.
Is there a way around this? I am going to have to start all over and pay someone to prepare my state taxes and file by paper? Any help is appreciated!
Yes. You can prepare an IT-237 fill-in form from the New York Department of Taxation’s website and attach the form to your return. You will have to mail your tax return. And use the CD/Download version.
How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax CD/Download?
Refer to the IT-237 instructions.
