Mn 529 Distribution

When I put in my 529 distribution for MN, my taxes increase. WHY? They should not, all 529 distributions are tax free IF they go toward qualified education expenses, which they did. TurboTax  asks me on the MN portion of the software to put in the "Total Distributions" which I do. The next box says "How much of this amount was NOT used for qualified expenses?" So, I answer 0, meaning all of it was used for qualifying expenses. WHY does my tax liability increase? Is this a glitch in TT? Why can't we email TT personnel directly? I used to be able to talk to someone there.

At this point you may wish to contact a specialist that can work through that section of the return with you. The specialists can look at your return on their screen to find out exactly what is causing this issue and suggest how you can take corrective action if needed. There maqy be some other underlying causes that is causing this.
