MA State filing transmission

Turbo tax is not allowing my Massachusetts state return to be transmitted.  I spent over an hour on the phone with support last week with no resolution to the problem.  the program allows you to submit the filing fee so Ihave been charged for the filing however when I press transmit the message tell me to go to the Online tab and press updates.  Then it tells me I am up to date.  When returning to the transmission it gives me the same message.  Caught in a loop.  is the State not accepting these transmissions.  Should Turbo Tax be contacting the state about this problem?  Hate to pay for something that doesn't produce.  Anyone else having this problem?

Massachusetts state return will not transmit.  Says needs update but that doesn't resolve and produces same failure to transmit result.  Tried the manual update for Massachusetts but that would not work, failure says that wrong version or product not installed, bs.  How do I get a refund of my e-file so I can just mail the darn return?

When I was on the phone with support the other day I was told they could not refund my money.  Really? Paying for a product I can’t use?  I called my credit card company today.

Has anyone been able to find out if this will be fixed anytime soon?  Still can't file Massachusetts return, but they still took my $20 fee.

In case you haven't resolved this problem.  Two weeks ago, I tried downloading a file which was supposed to update Turbo Tax for my state filing.  It didn't work but today I tried once more and it did.   Closed out TT then downloaded this file:

ma_AnyTo019.000.1375.msp from TT

and it updated TT . I tried to transmit again and it did.  Just waiting to hear that the state return was accepted by the DOR

I cant find the response I received in this community forum that advised me to download this file  Maybe someone out there recognizes it.  There was also another link for another state (cant remember which one).

How do I down load the fix , can I find that on Turbo Tax web site

Wish I never paid for the state.  Turbo Tax is doing a very bad support for its customers .  They have no problem taking my money then walk away

I assume you're using desktop software (CD/download), but you didn't specify an operating system.  See if this FAQ addresses your issue.  It has the MA manual update (Windows version.)

Same here, says I cannot file MA state return electronically because MA requires a statutory employee wages to be reported on schedule C.  But that's wrong and I dont need to file schedule C.  WTF...also I spent hours even going to H&R online because I was ready to throw in the towel, but encountered the same message.  So I wonder if this is a state problem more than a Turbo Tax issue.  I dont want to mail in my return but I guess if I want it done now I'll have to or wait for glitch to be resolved.

This is a thread from last year on a different issue involving MA at that time--the state efile update loop.  So your statutory employee issue may or may not be noticed in this thread.   I can't help you with a statutory employee issue or a MA return.  It's possible that TurboTax expert @DaveF1006 (who posted in this thread last year) might see it during the day and can comment on it, and I also just tagged him in case he can.

 

If you don't get help in this thread, you could start your own new thread addressing your issue in the title and description, and it might catch the eye of someone familiar with it, or you can speak to TurboTax Support.

 

If you are using a paid edition (PLUS or higher), you have phone support.
