Forgot to attach CA Form 3514 so EIC was denied; now ineligible to receive extra $600 "Golden State Stimulus"

Mailed in CA return & forgot to attach 3514, so my $151 Earned Income Credit was denied as a result.
This has resulted in not being eligible for the CA Golden State Stimulus of an additional $600 from the State.

Can I mail in an Amended Return and attach Form 3514??

Or do I just file Form 8862?

Does the State process the forms 8862 right away, i.e. not in the next tax year?  I'm just worried about how long it will take for the EIC to be corrected so that I receive the additional $600.

THANKS for any help!!  🙂

I recommend filing an amended state return using Schedule X and attaching Form 3514 to reflect the Earned Income Credit calculation.

The Franchise Tax Board will be issuing Golden State Stimulus payments for any returns received before October 15, 2021.  Therefore, if you submit your amended return prior to this date, you may still receive the stimulus payment this year.

Thanks so much.  That was what I was planning to do but wanted to make sure. Thanks again!  🙂
