foreign country name must be entered - california

To clarify, is your address in a foreign country?  What are of the Turbo Tax program does this appear because there are no drop downs that look like the one you sent in the screenshot.? Is this related to a Foreign Tax Credit? Are there more choices other than Mexico and Canada?

No I have not selected any foreign country , not sure why it is considering it that way. and i see this :

Try going back to your Personal Info section in the Federal return, and reviewing your responses. Then review your California questionnaire. It may have a question asking for your state or country of domicile that should list all of the states.

 

You might also try basic troubleshooting steps for Windows Desktop users:

 

• Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
• Verify that you have administrator rights on your computer and TurboTax is running as administrator:
  • Right-click the TurboTax icon or setup icon and select Properties. In the Compatibility tab, select the Run this program as administrator box and select OK.
• In the Control Panel under Internet Options, add https:*.intuit.com to Trusted Sites. Set security level to Medium.
• Turn off antivirus software and Windows Defender.
• Add TurboTax Desktop to your allowed apps in Windows Defender.

• Update your computer's hardware drivers.
• Update your security software for firewall, virus, and spyware protection.
