I sent just the necessaries forms and unemployment by ups but didn’t include a copy of w2, 1099 cause a tax expert said it wasn’t needed. Is this correct? How can I check the state received by taxes?
If you're expecting a refund, you can check here: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/check-the-status-of-your-ma-income-tax-refund or call MA DOR at (617) 887-6367
Although MA asks for copies of W-2s and 1099s when filing a paper return, at this point I would just wait and see if they ask for them (seems unlikely that they really need the paper copies).

Fourth attempt at posting a response - system does not seem to be accepting this answer.

Mass. DOR specifically uses USPS postal mail boxes ("POB") for receipt of all printed/postal submittals. Therefore, it is the fastest and most reliable mode of sending in anything to DOR, except electronic - including payments.Using UPS will be slower and less reliable because UPS cannot deliver to a USPS POB but only to, in this case, the Boston Postal Annex location. For fastest submittal and to have a certainty on tracking information and receipt, use USPS Express Mail, and it is usually less expensive than UPS also. Using Express Mail by USPS you can obtain a certified notice of delivery to the address of record (MASS DOR and its POB)
If your W-2 shows that taxes were withheld (paid), and also substantiates any claim that you paid FICA and Medicare taxes, which are deductible on your MA Form 1, then you would be best to include, paper-clipped, your W-2 to the Form 1. Technically it could be omitted but would likely slow down the processing.
If you plan to file by mail, you need to carefully read the instructions, either in the tax booklet, or the instructions that print with your tax return from Turbotax.
For example, you must attach originals of the W-2s, but not 1099s, to your IRS return. In NY, you must also attach an original W-2 when you file by mail. In VA, you must attach your W-2s AND a complete copy of your federal tax return.
At this point, you can't recall your return or file another one, so just have to wait and see. The state may send you a letter asking for those documents.
