I am at the point of filing my taxes - IT-201 as a NY resident and 540NR as a CA non-resident. I am told that the street address must not be entered on the California information worksheet for e-filing and should be entered instead on the federal information worksheet. I have my address on the federal worksheet; it does not matter what I have on the CA worksheet - correct address, nothing, giberish - I am stuck in a do loop. Any suggestions for a fix?
Other users who have experienced this issue found that these steps resolved it:
1. Edit street address section of Personal Info section of TurboTax. Even if no changes were made, select Edit and then save the entry again.
2. Save file
3. Close TT
4. Open it again
5. You should then be able to transmit returns
Hi MonikaK1 - thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I tried this three times and always got the same response. The kicker is that I am given the option of filing my return by mail, and California will not accept that!
Not sure if this is relevant - I am using the Mac version of TT
It depends. I would suggest contacting Turbo Tax phone support to see if they can lead you out of this loop. Before you call, try this to see if this works..
If this is appearing in Check This Entry screen, please do the following.
