why isnt my taxable amount of ira rmd showing up on line 4b?

the notation QCD is showing above taxable amount 0 i on line 4b

That's exactly what would be on your 1040 if you had the IRA trustee send the entire distribution to a charity. TurboTax asked if you had the trustee transfer all or part of the distribution to a charity. You must have selected the answer that you had all of the distribution transferred to charity. That means that none of it is taxable, but it still counts towards your RMD.


If you did not transfer all of it to a charity, go back through the questions in the 1099-R topic and correct your answer.
