Where do I enter my British Social Security Pension? Because I do not have a 1099 form, turbotax will not accept my information as it has in previous years.

Previous years I have entered it under Miscellaneous Income.  I did not need any  type of 1099 Form. I just typed in British Pensions and the amount without any problem.

If you are having difficulties entering the information as a 1099-R substitute form, you can enter it as miscellaneous income.

To do this in TurboTax:

  1. Click on Federal Taxes at the top of your screen
  2. Click on Wages & Income at the top of your screen
  3. Scroll down to Less Common Income
  4. Scroll down to Miscellaneous Income and Click Start
  5. Scroll down to Other reportable income and Click Start
  6. Click Yes and enter the description and amount.
