What if I received a 1099-G form for my stimulus check?

No.  You do not get a 1099G for the Stimulus payment.  1099G usually comes from your state for unemployment or a state refund you got last year.  What box is the amount in?

The government does not send a 1099G for a stimulus check.   If you got a 1099G it is for something else---it is either for unemployment, or for a state or local income tax refund, a government grant, an agricultural program,....but NOT for a stimulus check.  The stimulus money is not taxable---they do not send out a document for taxable income for it.

 

So----why did you really receive the 1099G?  Did you get unemployment in 2020?

Well I would say that you are incorrect considering I am looking at a 1009-G form from the TN dept of revenue for a stimulus check. It is for a business it’s not personal

It is a stimulus check for business

You can enter it as Business Income, All Other Income.
