My mom doesn’t understand why recently her bank statements are saying that the irs is withhelding taxes from her accounts. We don’t know what that means. She didn’t start seeing this until recently, it just says Federal income tax withheld
It means she owed federal taxes and somehow it was set up that they did automatic payments from her account to pay off her taxes.
My mom has always paid off the amount that she owes since she gets paid cash at her job. She personally goes to the IRS and pays her taxes. They say she doesn’t owe anything for the year. Any recommendations on how to resolve this issue?
