The gross income on the joint return is $36,636, but on the Retirement Income Results, it only shows the income of one of the filers. How do I fix it?

So the $36k is all retirement and should be showing in retirement income? You may want to contact a specialist that can work through that section of the return with you. They can see your screen and your entries.

Yes, the 36K is all retirement and it shows it that way until the Retirement Income Results appear.  There it indicates that they would get all of their estimated payments back as a refund.  I'm sure that is not correct.  Do they charge to speak with a specialist?

I wonder if the return is correct and that one page is wrong. Yes, they do charge to speak to a specialist. Let's try viewing the return first and see if the return is okay.

  1. Log into your return
  2. select Federal
  3. on the left side go to Tax Tools
  4. click on Tools
  5. Pop up box, click on View Tax Summary
  6. left side, click Preview my 1040
  7. When done click back right above the tax summary on left.

The 1040 summary shows it the same as the Review did with only the one income showing.  It also shows the Standard Deduction as being 27K.  I thought it was 24.4K.

I'll have to call them.  Thanks for your help.

The standard deduction is higher for seniors and disabled. That would be correct. You may need to review the entry of the forms in the retirement section.
