From your explanation, the retirement contributions are coming from your paycheck and the S-Corp contributes nothing, thus the difference between Box 1 and Box 3 on your W-2.  If this is the case, the salary expense for the S-Corp is the amount in box 3 - $27,500.

Are you doing an individual 1040 return or an S-Corp return?

doing my S Corp taxes tonight. I am the only employee. I have an accountant who does my quarterly payroll. He sent my W-2. I know that he has me doing $2200 for retirement.  Box 12a and Retirement Plan checked. The difference between Box 1 wages and Box 3 SS wages is the $2200.  I just need to know which number to use for my S Corp return 'Wages'.  Thanks a million.
