My dad retired from his self-employed family practice clinic 10 years ago. In 2019, he was awarded $880 in Box 6 in class-action lawsuit. How does he report this?

This year he received a 1099-MISC with $880 in Box 6 (necessitating self-employment status). How should we handle this?

Box 6? Did you mean Box 7? Is this a form 1099-MISC for 2019?

If your father was a health care provider then box 6 would probably be correct.   It is still reported on a schedule C as  self-employed income.
