Last year I'd submitted my 2021 return but realized I had not submitted my for 403b - 401k rollover from one company to another. I can do this now before my 2022 return?

It would not let me amend at the time as it had not been accepted. Can i still add this to the 2021 return before doing my 2022 one?

Once you start your 2021 amendment using the instructions provided in HelenC12's post:

  1. Answer the first few questions, then select your reason for amending.
  2. If you aren't automatically taken to the 1099-R section, click on the Federal Taxes tab toward the upper left corner, then Wages & Income.
  3. Select I'll choose what I work on, on the right.
  4. Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security.
  5. Click Start to the right of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).
  6. Answer Yes and click Continue.
  7. Select I'll type it in myself and click Continue.
  8. Use the following screens to add your 1099-R and answer the follow up questions.
  9. When you are done, continue through the screens to complete the amendment process.

Yes, you can amend your 2021 income tax return and add your 1099-R rollover, before you do your 2022 income tax return.

Hey thank you for the reply 😃  So it's the 1099-R form, good to know! Where in the amended return would I enter this info? Figured I'd ask before I start digging around a previous years return, haha.
