If i enter the value of unemployment compensation from maryland on line 4 per my 1099-g it continues to tell me that it should be blank but my 1099-g box 1 has a value?

the form itself says see box 1 and to attach a copy of the form. why does it not take the value it is asking me for that is on the 1099g?

Box 4 is federal income tax withheld on the 1099-G so are you in the wrong section of the program ?

box 4 from the form 502LU.  during the review it takes me to;

check this entry

form 402LU: amount of MD benefits received from unemployment compensation federal adjusted gross income of $$ exceeds the limit. this field should be blank.

however, line 4 of the from says;

amount of MD unemployment benefits included in **bleep**I (see box 1, 1099-g) attach a copy of form 1099-g.

on my form i have a $$ value in the box.

but TT says it should be blank...feels like i am going in circles

Did you fill in boxes 10a & 10b on the 1099-G entry screen to reflect MD?
