i am retired ( have no business at all) and help friend's company for welding job and i got 1099 nec. how i report in TurboTax.

how to report in TurboTax ??

Your friend's company treated you as an independent contractor for the work that you did.  That means that for that job you were self-employed and your income shown on the Form 1099-NEC should be reported on Schedule C Business Income and Expenses.  

 

Your income will be subject to self-employment tax if the net amount is greater than $400.
