I've double and triple checked that I checked "no" each time I was asked if I owned any rental property.
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2021" file that is experiencing this issue.
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
I am in Vermont as well, and the issue I'm having is with the state return. Sounds like it might be a glitch with the Vermont state software?
This happening to me as well. I've entered previously that I am the homeowner of the property. Answering YES or NO to the " Is this the Address of the property I was renting on December 31st, 2021" takes me to the same request for a rental SPAN number.
I'm running into the exact same issue. Were you able to resolve this? It sounds like it's an issue with Turbo Tax. I'm hoping it's fixed ASAP because my entire return is being held up because of this glitch.
Same, I am just waiting on this to be resolved so I can file. No response or fix yet.
I'm having the same issue as well. I thought I filled something in wrong but triple checked and from what I can tell it appears to be a glitch. Hoping this is resolved and communicated soon.
I just filed with HR block instead, no problem there.
I am about to switch to H and R Block as well. I'd prefer to stay with Turbo Tax since I've used them for the past 4 years, but their glitch is making it literally impossible to file.
@LenaH Could you please reply to this thread? I provided you with the information you requested.
Yes me too, 6 years! but oh well took me an extra 10 or 15 mins to put in the info that turbo tax had, that HR didn't. but at least you know that there is another option if turbotax doesn't fix the problem, because now we know it's on their end.
Just talked to a Turbotax live person. They are now investigating this and will inform me via email when a fix is available.
Thank you! Will you post here when you hear back from TurboTax?
Same problem. VT. If it isn't fixed by tomorrow I'll give my business to HR Block. Absolutely ridiculous
I'd love to hear from TT if there is a resolution of this problem.
I've got 3 rejections so far...just can't get past the
/ReturnState/ReturnDataState/FormRCC146/RentalInfo problem.
One person on this forum states a workaround, but I couldn't
reproduce it...s/he says to Delete the rental form right before
filing, but I couldn't see the form upon doing a from review just
prior to attempted e-file
It has been 4 day since this issue was posted. Is there really not a fix for it yet?! I don't have time to go in person to file/ family is under quarantine and would rather not waste any more time fixing with Hand R block, but I will have to if this isn't resolved by tonight.
My taxes were already accepted (state and fed) with HR block within hours of filing with them, save your self the headache and just go with them. it honestly took me an extra 15 mins to enter info that turbotax had and HR didn't. However if you upload your last years tax return into HR block they could transfer whatever info they could in this years return.
I had the same problem..got a solution from another member that worked.
You have to go through the 'rental' form..in 'address of property you rented'
make it blank, enter the SCAN number, then enter '0' months rented. If you
can get to Done with State, then e-file now, go the left of the screen,
go to 'tools', then select delete forms. At the bottom of that screen you'll see
form FormRCC146...delete that, then file the return..worked for me.
