Don't know if you're paying rent, selling rental property or buying rental property. But rental income you receive is not a "write-off" for anything, any way you look at it. It's reportable income. As for your reference to closing fees, I'm lost as to why you're paying closing fees on property you're either paying rent for, or collecting rent from. It's anyone's guess. You need to provide more details on your specific and explicit situation.
