After you file
Yes, you should amend your federal and state income tax returns if the 2020 1099-R changes your refund amount.
If you have a 2020 .tax file, you'll be able to upload your tax return to your 2020 tax return.
If you purchased the CD from TurboTax, contact us for a downloadable copy. If you don't already have a download account with us, you'll need to set one up.
- If you aren't able to recover your TurboTax account and you have to purchase a CD, you'll be able to transfer your 2020 .tax file provided you have a saved copy. See How do I prepare a 2020, 2019, or 2018 tax return?
- If you need copies of prior year's tax returns, you could request an IRS transcript.
Have you tried recovering your account with your phone number?
- I went through the Account Recovery and you can uncheck the box for iPhone. You'll then be able to upload you ID.
