After you file

I'm on the phone with the IRS now. Because I used the nonfiler form through turbotax, it has put my return into an error category. The IRS specifically said turbotax should not have been used to file for stimulus. So thanks alot Turbotax. I will never go through your system for anything.
You may find it interesting that the IRS non-filer website produces the same tax return as the TurboTax non-filer website.
See this TurboTax support FAQ when you registered for the stimulus using the non-filer website and now are trying to file a 2019 tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-topics/help/stimulus-how-to-file-your-return-after-getting-rej...
Right now, there are two options to fix this error:
- The IRS is working on a solution for people in this situation. We expect their instructions to be available in the coming weeks. We recommend that you wait and sign up to be notified when next steps are ready. Or,
- You can print and mail your return now. Just be aware that, due to COVID-19, IRS processing centers are closed and not processing paper tax returns. This doesn’t affect your submission, but it may delay the actual processing. We recommend waiting for the IRS instructions. Visit the IRS for more info.
